I sat in her perfectly clean home admiring her beautiful and functional TV stand.
I remember thinking I have never seen anything so great!
Then I asked, "where did you get that?"
Her response,"From a guy wanting to get rid of it,
{it was an old buffet I believe}
so I painted it and created some shelves for it."
WHAT! You can do that was my thought!
I mean who thinks of this stuff,
how could you look at something old
and make it so beautiful!
Well that was it, I spent days looking
for something old just calling my name to repaint it.
I thought for sure it would just take a minute into the
local thrift store.
Turns out you have to gain an eye for these things.
Everything I saw just look old, beat up or not functional.
And then I saw this . . .
And finally I saw what it could be....
My husband to his dismay did NOT understand
how I could see a TV stand from this very old boring dresser....
But I finally got the eye and I couldn't stop until
it was this . . .
It took some time, sweat and frustration!
But then I discovered an electric sander,
my first step into POWER TOOLS!
Wow how we fell in love.
It was so much faster than my darn
tired out of shape arms and that measly
worthless sandpaper which didn't seem to be
doing it's part!
So you see I was bittin'
And I was bittin' HARD
I couldn't stop
I wanted more
I wanted to do a piece
EVERY DAY!
So here I will share my journey from
I CAN'T do that
To I CAN'T stop doing this!
I hope that you will read enjoy and be inspired just as I was.
Take something old and make it BOLD!
